It looks like a lot of people have problems with keeping their plants alive, since many IoT projects are focused on automatic watering systems. Now we also see more ‘serious’ programs about learning about what plants really need (different colours of LED light, nutrients in hydroponic or aeroponic watering systems etc).
Currently Sensemakers is participating in the Astroplant project, which turns out to be both a great way to learn together about basic electronics and programming , as well as a nice context to work on more advanced stuff.
In the past some Sensemakers also helped at an educational project Poseidon aimed to monitor and control water for plants. Information and code is still in Github.
